The problem is that you just cannot trust what these services deem to be dangerous, because there is a tendency to exaggerate the situation and / or to treat minor privacy issues as though they were attacks of marauding robots about to destroy your computer.
Often, my internet security program tells me that a site is dangerous because it uses a certain statistics / tracking service that might collect non-personal data, but is hardly some sort of threat or virus as these things infer. It also thinks every site that carries Commission Junction affiliate links is dangerous and, in one ridiculous case, it considers a blog that advises legitimate marketers on how not to get their ezines caught in email spam filters as "hacking."
I'll bet, in Russell's case, it is just some advertising on his site and, probably served by a third-party ad network that has been incorrectly categorized.
