Twitter.com and it's Viral Widget Success... Why?

Having looked closely at Twitter.com the always on solution to keeping in touch with friends.

I couldn't see how the attention it receives is justified by the value it offers the user.

There are almost half a million pages of cached content in Google's index, Twitter's home page Pagerank is 8 and it's for thousands of delicious link and viral exponential alexa growth, something seems to be working.

Although I'm not 100% sure about this, I've decided to add the twitter viral widget to my blog.

Everyone cares about even the mundane when it's a friend's mundane.

The real reason, I suspect, is that Twitter was launched by web-famous people, who shared it with their also-web-famous friends, and so it trickled down to folks like you and me.

It's strangely addictive, I found myself posting to it a moment ago.

Yeah I had this widget on my sidebar for a while as well but I got rid of it immediately because it made my blog look unprofessional and text works just as well.. since I don't use my mobile to "twit" :)

I know what you mean about it looking unsightly... I think I'll try a different colour. Admittedly there was no consideration of aesthetics when I created the widget code for this blog. LOL..
